Well, I hope you can feel my pain.
With all the rain we’ve had recently, my yard was getting quite lush. Never mind the fact that I haven’t had extra money for plants this year, but the Hostas were looking really fine.
Then Bambi and his friends decided to visit Le Vive Lockman for some early morning delicacies. Before I could recover from the first secret sampling, they had returned to finish off the dainty morsels of beauty.
You say, “They’re so darn cute!”
I say, “the next time you hear me talking about ‘target’, I’m not talking about some new shorts and flip-flops!”
Thanks to Linda for showing what my Hostas should look like!

I’m always a little overwhelmed when I see my daughter’s photos of my grandchildren. Arden is quite the accomplished photographer. With great ideas for staging and props, Arden makes the art of capturing special moments of her children look effortless. With limited equipment in her arsenal and little free time to develop her skills, Arden has a keen eye for detail and manages to create images which are technically sound. Many of her images would win prizes in competition and demonstrate the love and affection she has for her kiddos.
That said, a father couldn’t be prouder of her creative work and a photographer could be jealous.

Little Nolan continues to exhibit his bright-eyed attitude about life. I don’t remember his sisters being so wide awake and alert in less than a week. Now, if he could actually see clearly, our communication could reach a new dimension. Well, it could be scary!

Brenden Lockman with his new cousin, Nolan Cagle
Brenden had his first encounter with his new cousin, Nolan, yesterday. He seemed quite tickled to hold this little baby. They will grow up to be great pals.
Brenden James is Philip’s son and shares my name. Nolan Matthew belongs to Arden and shares his dad’s name. There is something special about carrying on the family name. Brenden and my brother’s son, Benjamin are carrying the Lockman name to the next generation, just as Nolan will carry the Cagle name forward.
Being the oldest cousin is special and Brenden will become a great role model. His tender heart and zest for life are early indications of the kind of man he will be and the close friend he will be to his cousin.
Watching the grandchildren grow up and form bonds of love is a privilege for Barbara and I. What a blessing to see such fruit in the lives of our children.
